How To Make Beads Using Paper Bead Roller

By Jessica Barnes

When it comes to creativity, there are no bounds to it and people can explore a lot of ways to express art and making of jewellery beads. Using Paper Bead Roller is one of the methods used during this practice of doing it yourself or DIY. This is a very eco-friendly and waste management method that limits unwanted waste papers from lending on the environment and are used for good.

This is a craft that does not require one to have a particular book acquired skill but does require mostly a good eye, a creative open mind and raw talent for perfect execution. To venture into this practice one can use an already manufactured bead roller or they can also apply DIY and create their own pill roller into their style of preference.

The first step to follow is to cut all the papers and trim them as per the type of pellet you wish to make. With the right knowledge, one can easily know what shape of beads you would wish to make and this decision is made while one keeps in mind the type of jewellery they wish to make, the size and also the pellet pattern that will please them best.

After the papers have all being trimmed then it is now time to start off the rolling process with the bead rollers and the first end to be fixed into the roller is the wider end. At this stage or even during the entire process one should not be in a hurry and should tackle the entire procedure with care and tenderness in order to attain fine products in the end.

When the rolling has begun, maintain a tight grip as you place the wrapper around the roller and gently but firmly twist the roller while your fingers have a tight grip on the paper. While almost at the near end, loosen the grip and adjust the wrapper into the desired look and ensure that there are no forced bumps that are visible on the beads.

While the wrapper has now acquired the shape you had envisioned, it is now the time to close it and move on to the next bead and here is when the wrapper glue is applied. Avoid the mistake of applying too much glue on the wrapper and leaving a bumpy and very hard to dry layer that can ruin your entire work.

By the time you are done with the first four steps most of the hard work has already being done and now it is time to start with the finishing of this product. Here a smooth brush should be used to level all the layers of the glue and to give the beads an identical appearance so as to keep them consistent with one of the other.

When you have done all these and now have your final beads product, style them accordingly and produce the jewels of your desire. You can even colour the beads or leave them at their natural state. It all depends on your preferences.
