Renting An Inflatable Obstacle Course For Your Next Party

By Rebecca Collins

There is a celebration or holiday gathering on your calendar that you need to prepare for. You are seeking activities for both adult and children. The usual fare of clowns, magicians, photo booths, and DJs has occurred to you but you are looking for something a little different, something that involves physical activity. Renting an inflatable obstacle course may be your best bet as it will provide so much entertainment and competition for all participants.

This addition is perfect for birthday parties, graduation gatherings, reunions, employee appreciation picnics, and even for school fundraisers. Raise money by charging for each run through the gauntlet through the sale of tickets if it is a fundraiser.

To be able to rent this structure at all, you must have a proper area to set it up in. What is needed is a large, flat grassy area. Before renting, be sure to get the dimensions of this large structure to ensure that you do have room for it. You may even have an indoor space that is suitable. Remember: extra care would need to be taken to make sure small ones do not tumble over the side onto a hard surface. If a huge carpeted area is available, so much the better.

The best part of renting this type of activity is that you can easily turn it into a competitive game. Purchase or borrow a few stopwatches so you can time the individuals who are making their way through this maze. Designate specific individuals to be timekeepers. If you want to be even more diligent, make vests with numbers on them for the contestants to wear so that they can be tracked more easily. Depending on the number of participants, arrange for several heats and then have the winners of the heats compete against each other at the end.

You can come up with fun and unique prizes for all the winners. Arrange for medallions and/or small trophies to be presented a the end of the festivities. Encourage different work departments to compete. For the younger set, candy and toy prize are always fun and welcome additions.

It is very important to closely monitor any children who participate in activities on this structure. They could very easily get trampled in the rush or slip down through the sides to the floor. If you have an extremely large group tha is expected to enjoy this activity, it may be best to hire a few babysitters to keep an eye on younger participants. Or you may wish to be proactive by hiring an additional moon bounce for the little ones. It could be well worth the extra expense.

If everyone loves this activity, there are many more you can consider. These could include clowns, magicians, a dunking booth, carnival rides, a petting zoo, and maybe even a miniature train. There are many options to choose from to help provide ongoing entertainment to your event for both the young and the old.

You could even come up with a carnival theme and have many events and activities ready for eager participants. Add food booths, music, and skill challenges such as basketball free-throw tries and beanbag tosses. Celebrate holidays and enjoy family reunions with these competitive activities.
