Tattoo Cover Up Is Necessary

By Amy Ward

When most people make the decision to get a tattoo, they rarely think about the necessity to cover it up. However, there comes a time when tattoo cover up is helpful and necessary. In fact, many employers now require that all tats be covered while in the office. Then again we may have come to a point in life where we regret the actual art piece on our body and want it or a portion of it changed. These are a few of the reasons people find it necessary to search for a good cover up product.

In order to determine what solutions for tat cover up are available, one must first decide what it is they want. One must decide if the art needs to be covered temporarily or permanently. Also, since budgets are often a concern and factor in deciding whether a solution is viable, what cost will work for them.

If the decision is that the cover up should be a permanent fix, it narrows choices down to two. The obvious first permanent option would be to undergo laser removal of the tattoo. This option to remove the art can be lengthy, expensive, and somewhat painful. It is important to note that there has been some advances recently introduced that claims to be less painful ways to cover up the unwanted art.

If the art is something that does not necessarily need to be totally removed, there are other options. Perhaps one should consider either lightening the original tattoo or changing its appearance to be something more appealing. As times change so do our taste in things so it is no surprise that something we previously found appealing is now much less so.

If redesigning the original sounds more appealing as an option, this may work best. Obviously the original placement, size, and ink colors, all play a role in whether or not this option is even feasible. It will also depend on the artist and their ability as to whether this option will work. Be sure to choose one that has lots of experience as they can give you the most options and suggestions so that the outcome is successful.

In fact, it is vitally important to find the right artist. Covering up an existing tat with a new one is complicated. Finding an artist that has experience in doing this allows you to obtain suggestions and optimal results. After all, dealing with old ink and re-designing a tattoo is complicated and you want to be satisfied with the end results.

You may decide that only a temporary cover up is necessary. If this is the case, one can look into makeups and concealers specifically designed for this purpose. They are all easily found and generally located in the make up section of local stores. Many claim to be waterproof or smudge proof once applied. There are those that claim to be easy to use and apply with maximum results.

There are concealers that come in different shades to allow skin tones to be matched. Others give provide tips on how to mix the product to better match the skin. Finally, if the tattoo is located on either the arm or leg, one can find stretch bandages that can easily slide on and off to temporarily cover up the art which might be easier solution if done every day. Whatever reason exists, cover up is often needed and is used by many for both permanent and temporary solutions.
